Foundations Group Recovery Centers Ohio announced that it would open a new treatment facility in Hilliard on October 19, expanding its outpatient addiction services and introducing mental health day treatment.

The new location at 3499 Main Street replaces the provider’s Upper Arlington facility. According to the organization’s October 16 announcement, the Hilliard center brings addiction and mental health services together at one location for adults in Central Ohio.

What the Expansion Adds

The provider’s announcement describes the new facility as more than 12,000 square feet, with space for group programming, individual therapy and medication management.

Foundations Ohio says the Hilliard location will provide multiple levels of outpatient addiction care, including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming. The organization also lists standard outpatient treatment, medication-assisted treatment when clinically appropriate, aftercare and family support among its services.

A partial hospitalization program, commonly called PHP, provides structured treatment during the day while allowing participants to return home or to another appropriate living environment afterward.

An intensive outpatient program, or IOP, generally provides fewer weekly treatment hours and may offer greater flexibility around employment, education and family responsibilities.

New Mental Health Day Treatment

The Hilliard expansion also introduces full-day and half-day mental health treatment for adults who need more support than occasional outpatient appointments but do not require continuous inpatient supervision.

The organization says the programs may serve adults experiencing conditions such as depression, anxiety or other mental health concerns. Treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance-use conditions can also be coordinated at the same location.

The provider describes its full-day mental health program as a partial hospitalization level of care and its half-day program as an intensive outpatient level of care.

These are not residential programs. Participants generally continue living at home, in a recovery residence or in another appropriate setting while attending scheduled treatment.

Who May Need a Different Level of Care

Outpatient treatment is not appropriate for every situation. Someone experiencing severe withdrawal, an immediate medical emergency, an acute psychiatric crisis or a need for continuous supervision may require hospital care, medically supervised withdrawal management or residential treatment.

A qualified professional should assess the individual’s medical condition, mental health, substance-use history, living environment and safety before recommending a level of care.

Communities Served

The Hilliard location is positioned to serve Columbus and surrounding Central Ohio communities, including Dublin, Upper Arlington, Grove City, Powell and Westerville.

Its location near major commuter routes may make structured daytime and half-day programming more accessible to people who are continuing to manage family, work or educational responsibilities.

Capacity Information

The provider’s October 16 announcement describes a facility of more than 12,000 square feet with capacity for up to 150 clients.

A current mental health program page on the provider’s website refers to approximately 10,000 square feet and room for up to 120 clients. Because those figures differ, anyone relying on capacity information should confirm the facility’s current operating details directly with Foundations Ohio.

Questions to Ask Before Admission

Individuals and families considering the program may want to ask:

Which addiction and mental health programs are currently accepting new clients?

Is PHP, IOP or standard outpatient care appropriate for the individual?

Does the person need medical detoxification or inpatient stabilization first?

Does the facility participate in the person’s specific insurance plan?

What deductibles, copayments or other charges could apply?

Are day and evening schedules available?

How are co-occurring mental health and substance-use conditions addressed?

What aftercare, family support and long-term recovery services are available?

Why This Matters

Addiction and mental health conditions frequently overlap, but people may be required to coordinate care through separate providers and locations. Bringing addiction treatment, mental health programming, therapy and medication management together may reduce some of those barriers.

The Hilliard expansion also creates another outpatient referral option for Central Ohio residents who need more support than occasional appointments but do not require continuous residential or hospital care.

Addiction Recovery Pro Perspective

The Hilliard development reflects continued growth in integrated outpatient care for substance-use and mental health conditions. Its combination of partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programming and support for co-occurring conditions could help families and referral partners identify an appropriate step between weekly therapy and inpatient care.

Before making a treatment decision, individuals should verify the available services, clinical level of care, admission requirements, insurance participation and current program capacity directly with the provider. Addiction Recovery Pro is reporting this expansion for informational purposes and has not independently evaluated or endorsed the facility.
